A multi-purpose AI writing tool
MoonBeam is an AI writing tool available in both free and pro versions. It is designed for use in a variety of content, from essays to Twitter threads and YouTube scripts.
This tool is comparable to the many other AI writing apps available, like iA Writer. It can be used as a starting point when generating quick content for outlets like WordPress. And even though it can not pen a full article, it can lay out the structure.
Select a persona
MoonBeam boasts on its homepage that it will prevent users from ever having to write an essay from scratch again. The tool includes multiple parts, the most significant being the MoonBeam Wizard.
When this is activated, the user can choose a persona from a drop-down menu and then get started. Some persona options include a content marketer, student, educator, and more.
Choose your template
Once you've picked a persona, you can choose from a selection of templates. Some templates cover many personas, like those for blog posts, essays, and Twitter threads. Meanwhile, others are more specific. The Writer persona includes a template for YouTube scripts, while the Student persona has a College Admissions Essay template.
Create a first draft
After you've chosen your template, you'll need to enter your subject (for example, gardening) and target audience (for example, young women). Certain templates will also require you to enter keywords, while some have more steps than others. In the end, you will have both an outline and a means of editing the AI-created draft.
A means of structuring your writing
The free version of MoonBeam is basic, although a paid upgrade to the Pro version gets extra features. The main purpose of the tool is to generate the structure of a piece rather than any content. What you end up with is a guideline. The usefulness of it will depend on your chosen prompts.
